Presentation: Trip Through the ASQ Website

By Philip Hansen

The ASQ Website is a wonderful resource of quality information. Earlier this year, the Temecula Section Board decided it would be a good idea to tour the website at our April meeting to share some of the information with the membership. Anyone who has spent any time researching topics on the website is encouraged to be prepared to share your experiences in this interactive “Trip Through the ASQ Website”. Our speaker will walk us through the website and we will cover any and all topics of interest to the audience.

Speaker’s Bio: Philip Hansen is a PhD Chemical Engineer and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with experience in R&D, Project Management, Quality and Operational Excellence at a variety of consumer products companies in Minnesota, Texas and California. He is currently an Operational Excellence Engineer at Ventura Foods, LLC. Philip graduated from Carthage College, Clarkson University and the University of Illinois. Growing up in Wisconsin, he and his family have now lived in Temecula, California longer than anywhere else. Philip joined ASQ two years ago and has served as Program Chair for the Temecula Section for the past 18 months.

Join us for a fun evening reviewing the ASQ Website on April 16, 2015!!!

Six-Sense Auditing
This lively training presentation teaches how to use all six – yes, six! – senses when conducting external conformity assessments or internal QMS audits, in order to maximize the gathering of objective evidence, and to ensure the highest level of confidence in the final audit results. This eye-opening and invaluable discussion will give even seasoned auditors a new perspective, and will help improve the audit experience not only for clients, but also dramatically reduce problems with Certification Body internal review committees and Accreditation Bodies. As a clinic participant, you will:The “angle of perception” used by auditors, and how to expand it using the “missing senses” to soak up evidence like a sponge.Learn how auditees hide nonconformities in plain view, based on predicted auditor behavior.Never again have your audit findings challenged because of weak evidence.Speaker Bio:  Christopher Paris is a former Chemical Process Engineer, and has worked with ISO 9001systems since 1988.  In 1999, he founded Oxebridge Quality Resources, an ISO 9001 and AS9100 consulting firm whose clients include SpaceX, Lufthansa, L3 Communications, and200 small and medium sized organizations. He was a member of the US TAG to TC 176,and is an international speaker on the subject of quality and ISO 9001, primarily advocatingfor the point of view of standards users.  See link for more on Christopher Paris bio.
