Presentation Title: Solar Rain Bottled Water

SolarRain is changing the landscape of bottled water by combining innovation with nature. Beginning with ocean water, a local and plentiful source, and using solar thermal energy, a clean and renewable energy, SolarRain is purified just like Mother Nature makes rain, straight from a cloud.

Bottled in 100% biodegradable & recyclable PET1 bottles, SolarRain is produced daily and sold fresh locally on the “neighborhood” shelf. SolarRain is destined to become a local favorite in the hearts and minds of the San Diego and Southern California communities whose economies it supports.

Mission – to provide an eco-friendly bottled water alternative, balancing sustainability with the convenience of lifestyle choices.

Products include:

Solar Rain® Zero is an excellent choice for those seeking to naturally cleanse excess hard minerals and contaminants from the body. Vapor distilling yields the purest form of water available. When the water is distilled, the water vaporizes leaving all the bad stuff behind. The vapor then condenses and falls straight from a cloud, just like Mother Nature makes rain.

Ninety-seven percent of the Earth’s water is ocean water, and there’s plenty of it. Ocean sourced water gives you a balance of naturally occurring minerals – Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium – and electrolytes, no additives needed. That’s a big health benefit. Solar Rain® Ocean gives you a clean, healthy, great-tasting premium drinking water that is the most environmentally friendly.

Solar Rain® Pure has the same fresh, crisp taste that Solar Rain® Ocean does. SolarRain is committed to clean energy and has developed an evaporative process of purifying water that uses solar thermal energy, a renewable energy.

Solar Rain® Pure is a premium drinking water, locally sourced and produced with care.

SolarRain Story

Because it almost never rains in San Diego, a Valley Center company decided to make their own rain, bottle it and sell it as drinking water.

SolarRain is one of the most unique bottled waters in the world. Its primary source of water is the Pacific Ocean, and the company takes the water from the Pacific, which it has a permit for, and cleans the water using the simplest of methods.

“It’s basically as old as the beginning of time,” said SolarRain President B.J. Kjaer.

The company creates rain inside a unique filtration system located at SolarRain’s Valley Center headquarters.

Five years ago, Kjaer started bottling the water, which is much different from the water that could be produced from a giant desalination plant planned for Carlsbad’s coast. The desalination process uses reverse osmosis and uses a lot of energy. Kjaer said that process is about 50 percent efficient.

SolarRain is powered by its own solar thermal system. That energy is used to warm the ocean water. The warming creates a man-made cloud in one giant container, and the cloud is pumped into another stainless steel container, where it is cooled and then rains.

According to the company, 6,500 gallons of man-made rainwater is collected and bottled at the Famous Ramona Water plant in, of course, a biodegradable bottle.

“We don’t want it floating around the planet for the next 10,000 years,” said Kjaer. The bottles are then shipped in recycled cardboard boxes and wrapped in recycled plastic.

“We’re absolutely the only and most sustainable, green bottled water company in the world and we happen to be right here in San Diego,” said Kjaer. SolarRain is already sold in local stores.

Kjaer said several countries in the Middle East and Europe have also contacted him about producing SolarRain on a massive scale.

This lively training presentation teaches how to use all six – yes, six! – senses when conducting external conformity assessments or internal QMS audits, in order to maximize the gathering of objective evidence, and to ensure the highest level of confidence in the final audit results. This eye-opening and invaluable discussion will give even seasoned auditors a new perspective, and will help improve the audit experience not only for clients, but also dramatically reduce problems with Certification Body internal review committees and Accreditation Bodies. As a clinic participant, you will:The “angle of perception” used by auditors, and how to expand it using the “missing senses” to soak up evidence like a sponge.Learn how auditees hide nonconformities in plain view, based on predicted auditor behavior.Never again have your audit findings challenged because of weak evidence.Speaker Bio:  Christopher Paris is a former Chemical Process Engineer, and has worked with ISO 9001systems since 1988.  In 1999, he founded Oxebridge Quality Resources, an ISO 9001 and AS9100 consulting firm whose clients include SpaceX, Lufthansa, L3 Communications, and200 small and medium sized organizations.
