Presentation Title: “An Introduction to Comprehensive Quality”

We’ve seen the quality field expand from 100% inspection to lean Six Sigma, but now there is a collection of additional concepts and tools. Rather than rely on existing verbiage to help describe this collection, a new descriptor is introduced to facilitate the rational growth of the quality field. This presentation offers this necessary terminology as the next step in quality. ASQ already recognizes and encourages all the concepts, old and new, that make up Comprehensive Quality.

  • The field of quality has grown so broad and so deep that it requires special recognition of the creative and innovative directions it has taken.
  • The quality field has experienced important changes.
  • The revised names of professional societies reflect the policy and practice of inclusion.
  • Quality has become a collection of interrelated concepts and activities.
  • The origins of quality have resulted in a series of important practices.
  • The quality movement has evolved from Deming, Juran and the early Japanese quality practioners.

Dr. Jack B. ReVelle provides his advice and assistance as a consulting statistician.  His credentials include over 40 clients, over 30 books, handbooks, videos and software packages as well as over 80 ASQ webcasts.  Dr. ReVelle received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University.  He is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality, the Institute of Industrial and Systems Eng

ineers, and the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering.  Dr. ReVelle was awarded the Dorian Shainin Medal by ASQ in 2012 “for the development and application of creative or unique statistical approaches in the solving of problems relative to the quality

of a product or service” and the Simon Collier Quality Award by the ASQ Los Angeles Section 0700 in 2015 “in recognition of nearly 50 years of consulting, training, writing and speaking about the technical aspects of quality. This has expanded awareness, appreciation and application of Lean Six Sigma, TQM, Agile and Kaizen in business, industry, government and academia.” He continues to deliver data-related presentations to local chapters of ASQ, IISE and ASSE. Dr. ReVelle authored the cover article, Forward Progress, for the 50th anniversary issue (November 2017) of Quality Progress. Learn more about Jack B. ReVelle, Ph.D. at [www.ReVelleSolutions.com].

Join us for a wonderful presentation of “An Introduction to Comprehensive Quality” on August 16th, 2018 at 6:00pm!!!

This eye-opening and invaluable discussion will give even seasoned auditors a new perspective, and will help improve the audit experience not only for clients, but also dramatically reduce problems with Certification Body internal review committees and Accreditation Bodies.
As a clinic participant, you will:
The “angle of perception” used by auditors, and how to expand it using the “missing senses” to soak up evidence like a sponge.
Learn how auditees hide nonconformities in plain view, based on predicted auditor behavior.
Never again have your audit findings challenged because of weak evidence.
