Use the TRIZ Method of Ideality and Application of Resources to Solve Problems FAST

Abstract :

Quality professionals are great at finding problems, and analyzing the root causes of those problems, but sometimes they need help finding creative solutions to those problems.   TRIZ is a systematic innovation methodology which has been adopted into Six Sigma and other quality improvement methods; it gives problem solving teams specific, analytic tools and methods for finding creative solutions to problems.  This is NOT brainstorming! The ideality of a system is defined in terms of its benefits, costs, and harm, and improvement opportunities can be identified by looking at those elements.   Costs can be drastically reduced by making improvements by using resources that are already present in the system:  use energy, information, materials, people, and infrastructure that you already have.  Participants will learn to (1) use the concept of ideality to generate improvement idea, (2) find the resources “hidden” in a system, and (3) use the resources to improve the system.

2. This was previously requested to create a Jobs tab to post job openings in the local region. However it was not done yet. Please create this ASAP. I will forward you “new” job openings in separate emails.
3. For the Quality Day tab, please create a simple page for it. On this page, list the quality day event by year. For example, 2010 Quality Day: October 21, 2010: Quality Quest: A Continuous Journey. Then link the pdf of the event flier to the date. I will provide some additional content for archiving purpose. This is not urgent, however.
